The Obama administration recently ruled that global warming poses a serious threat to public health and safety. This "endangerment finding" gives the Environmental Protection Agency authority to regulate almost anything that emits carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases—from cars to power plants to apartment buildings.
The EPA has already outlined plans for a long series of carbon dioxide regulations. These forthcoming regulations will impose a massive energy tax that will, at best, result in a change in the Earth's temperature too small to ever notice.
Help us speak out against this harmful government ruling. Last year, 14,461 people submitted a comment through The Heritage Foundation's website asking the EPA not to move forward with carbon dioxide regulations. We need your help again.
Visit StopEPAAgain.com to voice your concern to the EPA about these regulations.
Under these regulations, virtually no portion of the American economy would be left unscathed.
Job losses would exceed 800,000 annually for several years.
At least one million small businesses and farms would be subject to unprecedented regulatory red tape and compliance costs.
In times of financial uncertainty, the last thing American workers, consumers, and families need is more tedious regulation and costly obstacles that limit and tax American economic growth.
There is very little in our dynamic economy that would be left untouched by Washington regulation if we do not act soon.
I encourage you to visit StopEPAAgain.com by June 23 to learn more about these disastrous regulations and submit a comment to the EPA.
Your voice made a difference in 2008. With your support, we can repeat history!
Thank you again for your support of The Heritage Foundation.
Sincerely,
Edwin J. Feulner, Ph.D.
